- ASSESSMENT PROCESS
For the evaluation and assessment of Course Outcome and Program Outcome (CO’s and PO’s), rubrics are used. The rubrics considered here are given below:

- Quality of Assessment Process: CO Assessment Rubrics: Course Outcome is evaluated based on the performance of students in internal assessments and in university examination of a course. Internal assessment contributes 25% and university assessment contributes 75% to the total attainment of a CO.
Theory Sessional:
Internal Sessional Examination: Internal tests serve to encourage students to keep up with course content covered in class. Three written examinations are conducted, among them the best of three marks are considered for internal assessment.
For theory subjects, during a semester there shall be 3 mid-term examinations is taken. Each sessional examination consists of subjective paper and assignment as per AKTU/PCI guideline. The first two sessional examinations shall be for 30 marks each with a total duration of 1 hour 30 minutes. The sessional paper is consisting of 3 sections. Section A for a total of 10 marks, section B for 10 marks and Section C for 10 marks. The student has to answer all the questions of section A and section B & Section C contain choices of questions. While the first mid-term examination contains 2 units of the syllabus, the second mid-term examination shall be conducted up to 3.5 to 4 units and the remaining units covered in the Presemester examination. Five (5) marks are allocated for Assignments (as specified by the subject teacher concerned). The third sessional examination shall be considered as a Presemester examination on the pattern of university examination. Third sessional consists of all units of the syllabus. The Presemester examination is of 75 marks with a duration of 3 hrs. as per AKTU/PCI guideline. This examination contains three sections, section A consists of 10 questions of 20 marks, Section B consists of three questions out of which two questions of 20 marks are an attempt by the students and section C have seven questions out of which five questions attempt of 35 marks. The first Assignment should be submitted before the conduct of the first mid-examination, and the second Assignment should be submitted before the conduct of the second mid-examination. The total marks secured by the student in each mid-term examination are evaluated for 25 marks, and the best of the two mid-term examinations shall be taken as the final marks secured by each candidate. The questions for three internal examinations and Assignments are framed in such a way to cover all Course Outcomes.
University examination: The end-semester examinations are of 3 hours duration and cover the entire syllabus of the course. It would generally satisfy all course outcomes for a particular course. The COs are evaluated based on the set attainment levels.
Practical Sessional:
Daily Performance: Lab courses provide students with the first-hand experience with course concepts and the opportunity to explore methods used in their discipline. All the students are expected to be regular and learn the practical aspects of the subject and develop the necessary skills to become professionals. In order to facilitate interaction among the students and to develop team spirit, the students are expected to carry out experiments in groups. Performance assessment is based on the ability of the student to actively participate in the successful conduct of prescribed practical work and draw appropriate conclusions. The student submits a record of practical work performed in each lab session.
For internal practical subjects, there shall be a continuous evaluation during a semester for 15 sessional marks and 35 end semester examination marks as per AKTU/PCI guideline. Out of the 15 marks for internal evaluation, day-to-day work in the laboratory shall be evaluated for 15 marks and the internal practical experiment shall be evaluated for 5 marks conducted by the laboratory teacher concerned.
University examination: The end semester examination shall be conducted with an external examiner and the laboratory teacher. The external examiner shall be appointed from the other colleges which are decided by the examination controller of the University.
The end-semester examinations are of 4-hour duration and cover the entire syllabus of the practical course. It would generally satisfy all course outcomes for a particular course. The COs are evaluated based on the set attainment levels.
