Herbal garden is a place where students get exposure to various medicinal plants and get knowledge about their useful effects including their source, botanical names, cultivation techniques and their constituents etc.
Medicinal plants have a significant role in human life and India has a rich diversity of medicinal plants. About 90% of herbs are used in the manufacturing of AYUSH medicines. The college has established an arboretum of medicinal plants with an objective to maintain a conservatory of the most common and important species of medicinal and aromatic plants which are being used in day-to-day primary health care.
Goel Institute of Pharmacy and Sciences has well maintained medicinal Herbal Garden with about near about fifty plants that are maintained properly and take care by a gardener Mr. Radhey Lal. The medicinal garden is managed by the two faculty members and two students from each class under the supervision of a senior faculty, Mr. O. P. Verma. The medicinal plants are properly arranged and name plates are placed to their respective plants. This helps the students to see and learn about the plants in their natural habitat. This provides plants material for conducting the practical’s of M Pharm, B. Pharm & D. Pharm students.
